Mick Schumacher has been getting to grips with F1 in the Haas VF-21 this weekend in Bahrain, and he admitted he immediately noticed the differences with the Formula 2 cars he raced before. In the press conference after the second day of testing the young driver explained what was different between the classes.

"In general, I am very satisfied with the day," said Schumacher on Saturday, as quoted by Speedweek.

"I got into driving a lot more. I'm particularly happy with the endurance runs, the feeling is that the tires on the GP racer hold up better than on the Formula 2 car, I can attack more, which is nice.

"Because I hadn't driven much on Friday, I found it difficult to find a rhythm at the beginning. I am satisfied with my increase. It was also important to get a feel for the car with soft tires," said 21-year-old driver.

The pit stops are tougher too

Not only do the tyres require different treatment in Formula 1, Schumacher now knows, the pit stops are also a lot more intense.

"Basically, the pit stops are much faster than in Formula 2. You start to maintain the correct speed shortly after you stop, so you can start again after changing tires, you are already looking for the clutch point. It's all much more intense than in Formula 2, but it's also more fun."
