Chandhok keeps an eye on Aston Martin: 'You know they'll benefit from that'

Karun Chandhok is anticipating some interesting tactics when it comes to tokens this season with teams adapting because of the coronavirus. The Sky analyst thinks it's extraordinary to see what teams are using their tokens for and that each team is going in a completely different direction.

Everyone uses tokens for something else

"I think when you look up and down the grid it’s really interesting see for example AlphaTauri. They’ve decided to stick with the 2019 Red Bull gearbox, which will obviously be two years old when we start the season," said Chandhok on Sky Sports F1. Instead, AlphaTauri opted to spend tokens on the nose and front wing.

Aston Martin have been looking at Mercedes and Chandhok is looking forward to seeing what they do. "Aston Martin I’m fascinated to see, because they’ve got that really revolutionary rear suspension. You know they’re going to benefit from that this year. They’ve been able to carry that over onto their cars, so yeah, every team is using tokens in different ways."
