For Sergio Perez qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix went very well. The Mexican couldn't race at Silverstone because of a positive coronavirus test, but in Spain the driver was back. He finally put his Racing Point in fourth place, in front of his team mate Lance Stroll and behind Max Verstappen. Although Verstappen seems to be faster, Perez is keeping his eye on the Dutchman.

"We are definitely looking at the front. Hopefully, we can get Max in the start and it's difficult to overtake here and then it will be tyre management," Perez said after qualifying.

"We don't have the pace to beat Red Bull and Mercedes, but if we can get ahead. Who knows?"

The Mexican is satisfied with his return to F1, especially in challenging conditions.

"I am pleased with that comeback. The conditions were not easy and the windy conditions through sector 3 changing directions. You have to do tyre management throughout the lap and manage it to have enough tyre for the final sector."
