In an interview on Mercedes' Youtube channel, Toto Wolff gave an update on the status of the team now that the coronavirus is so large. The Austrian is keeping a close eye on the situation and is well aware of the impact the current situation is having on Mercedes.

"I think it's awkward for everyone because you still have to be there. What's special about Mercedes is that we can take care of each other's work. If somebody disappears, there's another employee who can fill that gap", Wolff says. "The most important thing for Mercedes is that everyone is healthy. Not just us, but the families and friends around us too."

Different measures for different countries

Wolff also notes that different European countries are taking different measures to combat the coronavirus. "If you look at Austria, my homeland, where they went into a lockdown very early. There they are already looking at easing the measures. Sweden, on the other hand, has hardly taken any measures and other countries have had a total lockdown."

"Formula 1 is a platform for entertainment and it's a sport, and we all miss it. We just need to look closely at what the rest is doing and participate in it, to make sure that we get out of these difficult times together", concludes Wolff.
