Max Verstappen announced Monday that he will participate in the eSeries of the Red Bull Supercars. He will meet a friend in the form of Shane van Gisbergen, but he will get another nickname from Verstappen.

The two have known each other for some time now and in an online video Verstappen immediately makes fun of his new colleague. ''I get to ride with a Holden for the Red Bull team with my buddy Pastor. I think we all know who it is; he is the king of the crash'', Verstappen makes the link with former driver Pastor Maldonado.

This sets the tone for the new duo and Van Gisbergen doesn't immediately let the F1-driver beat him. In his own video Van Gisbergen welcomes his new team mate 'Mark' to the team. This gives Verstappen a reference to the eternal number two at Red Bull Racing: Mark Webber.

''Mark is very fast and at Silverstone he will be able to act quite well as a second driver. I know he calls me Pastor because I crash a lot, but he forgets that the second race will be held in Barcelona, where Maldonado won'', concludes Shane.

The first race of the series will be on Wednesday at 11:00 Dutch time at GPblog.com!
