Helmut Marko has confirmed Aston Martin Red Bull Racing will continue to work with Honda into the 2021 season, Marko confirming a one-year contract extension for both Red Bull and Toro Rosso.
Honda's deal with the two constructors was due up at the end of 2020, and there were several doubts as to whether the engine provider would keep working in the pinnacle of motorsport into the new regulations.
Red Bull and Toro Rosso have achieved some positive results this season, Max Verstappen winning three races with Toro Rosso achieving podiums on two occasions. Honda's good form at the end of this season was expected to be important in their future and it now appears it has been good enough to extend their stay.
Marko told Servus TV: "This is a big relief for us, we are very happy with Honda."
The contract extension of one year will see Honda work with Red Bull and Toro Rosso for one year into the regulation changes, enough to see whether Red Bull are still able to compete at the top of the grid.
