Alex Albon has been brilliant since making the step up from Toro Rosso to Aston Martin Red Bull Racing midway through the season. Christian Horner has been impressed with the job the 23-year-old has done since the move.

Since replacing Pierre Gasly in August, Albon has finished inside the top six in all seven races, in the process scoring 68 points, which is more than teammate Max Verstappen.

The Dutchman is confirmed as the main driver for Red Bull Racing next year but the second driver is yet to be announced with Albon now the clear favourite.

"It's his seat to lose really," Horner told Sky Sports.

"He's got his bum in it at the moment and he's doing a good job.

"We've still got time until the end of the year. All the drivers are under contract for next year so we don't need to rush - but everybody has been impressed with the work he's doing so far."
