Wolff believes Mercedes will come back stronger from defeat

It was one of Mercedes' worst showings in a long time at the German Grand Prix, but team principal Toto Wolff has insisted the team will bounce back at the Hungarian Grand Prix and believes it is one of their biggest strengths.

It was a weekend to forget for the Silver Arrows as Valtteri Bottas retired from the race as he tried to overtake Lance Stroll and Lewis Hamilton recovered from several spins to finish ninth, befitting from the penalties to both Alfa Romeo drivers. It was the constructors' worst result this season but Hamilton was still able to extend his lead at the top.

With the season's second doubleheader underway, Wolff looked forward to the second part, the Hungarian Grand Prix and he believes the team will return to form.

“I believe that one of the core strengths of our team is the way we handle defeat," Wolff said in his preview.

"We accept responsibility for mistakes so that we can learn and improve – and we will come back stronger from this. The positive is that the next race is only a few days away and that we have the chance to redeem ourselves in Budapest this weekend."
