Charles Leclerc is confident Ferrari will learn the lessons from his disappointing home race. Ferrari left Leclerc sitting in his garage and opted not to attempt a second run in Q1.

This complacency turned into a disaster as Leclerc was knocked down the leaderboard. Eventually, it was his teammate Sebastian Vettel who produced a stunning final lap to push Leclerc into the drop zone.

Starting from P15 is bad anywhere, but it's almost impossible in Monaco. This ruined Leclerc's race weekend in front of his own fans, but after showing initial frustration, the 21-year is confident his team will learn.

“I think as a team we will have to learn because obviously going out in Q1 has been a huge disappointment. It was not our starting position, 15th. We expected a difficult race but we will for sure learn from this," Leclerc said in an interview on RaceFans.

A crash with Nico Hulkenberg ended his charge through the field. The man from Monaco was doing well in the early stages but tried too hard on Hulkenberg. He clipped the barrier and the Renault car causing damage he couldn't solve.

“I think it was a racing incident. I don’t think he left much space but I clipped the rear on the wall and I think we touched a little bit, that’s it," Leclerc added when reviewing the crash.

“We had quite a bit of a disappointment since the beginning of the season. But we need to keep our head up and keep working as hard as we possibly can and the results will eventually come.”
