Haas F1 boss Guenther Steiner thinks his team has the solution to its pace issues, but they are being delayed.

Following a positive start to the season in Melbourne; with Kevin Magnussen finishing in P6, the American team have now failed to score a single point in the following two races in Bahrain and China.

Both Magnussen and Romain Grosjean's cars started inside the top 10 in those two races, but disappointing performances all-round at Haas means they've only scored points in one race this campaign.

During the Bahrain in-season testing programme, Steiner believes Haas found the necessary solutions to their issues, but any quick mends have been held up as the car needs to be developed.

"We learned a lot in the two-day test after the Bahrain Grand Prix," Steiner said to Crash.net. "We understand it, we just couldn't find solutions in time for the upcoming events, because you need to develop those solutions and parts.

"Hopefully, we'll get on top of that one, sort the problem, and be as competitive in the race as we are in qualifying. I couldn't say that it's more difficult than last year because the car is different - we've developed a completely new car.

"We just know that we cannot get the tyres to work in the race. How big the window is, and to keep in it, is difficult to define."
