Lance Stroll hopes that his team will be more competitive at the Chinese Grand Prix than they were in Bahrain. The new team has not performed as well as they would have hoped so far this season but will look to turn things around in China.

The midfield battle has been very tight so far and Racing Point are currently second from last in the constructors championship. They will look to try and score some vital points this weekend.

"I don't know exactly what to expect from the weekend in China," Stroll said to gptoday.net. "I hope we are more competitive than we were in Bahrain, because this is a very different kind of circuit.

"There is a good flow in it with some fast turns and it is nice to drive there. At some points it is a very wide circuit and it has one of the longest straight parts of the calendar. We often see slipstream fights towards the hairpin and that is also the best place to catch up.

"We had a hard time with the balance of the car in Bahrain and we worked on that during the test last week. We are still learning how to get the most out of our aerodynamic package, but I feel we are going in the right direction I think we can make better use of the car's potential this weekend in China."

The Chinese Grand Prix marks F1's 1000th race and Racing Point will be looking to celebrate by having both cars finish well in the points.
