Charles Leclerc has admitted he’s looking for a “deserved” result in China as the Ferrari driver bounces back from his disappointing finish at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The Monegasque dropped from first to third in the closing stages of the race after he suffered a short circuit, allowing Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas to take a one-two for Mercedes. Leclerc is currently above four-time World Champion and teammate Sebastian Vettel in the standings but is still looking for his first race win.

"It is the 1000th race in the history of Formula 1 and I hope I can have a strong car as I had it in Bahrain to continue looking for that result we deserve,” admitted Leclerc in an interview on motorsport.com.

“The one in Shanghai is one of the tracks I know least since we competed only once last year.

“I have a good memory of the qualifying, less than the race, even if overall I like the track a lot because I like very different curves those that we will find in the rest of the calendar, in particular, curve 1 and 13 which leads to the long straight, usually the Chinese one is a fun race because the weather conditions are often unpredictable and maybe the rain comes suddenly when you least expect.”
