Two teams forced to adjust rear wing after FIA rule change

Two teams have admitted they have had to adjust their rear wings following the FIA's new guidelines, with Ted Kravitz revealing to Sky Sports which teams would be involved.

According to Sky's reporter, Alpine admitted that some adjustments had to be made to the rear wing after the FIA's new rules regarding the 'mini-DRS'. These changes set stricter requirements for the rear wing so that it does not bend as much. Due to the changes, it meant that Alpine's old rear wing had not met the requirements of the new test.

Besides Alpine, Haas has also been told that its rear wing has been modified. The team that came out worst in Australia will have to strengthen its rear wing to pass the new tests.

Ahead of the race weekend in China, many eyes were on the top teams. Especially from McLaren and Mercedes, many images circulated online that they might try to bend the rules as much as they can. According to those teams, however, there is nothing wrong.

Lando Norris, for instance, already stated during the press conference that McLaren did not need to adjust anything. Instead, the Briton felt that his team might not have pushed the limits enough and could therefore do so more now.
