With Brexit looming, the event is sure to affect the world of sport and none less so than Formula 1 and it has led to rival F1 bosses weighing in on the debate.

Toto Wolff of Mercedes and Christian Horner of Red Bull have both had their say on the matter with contrasting opinions.

Wolff has been on the winning side for the last five seasons at Mercedes but believes Brexit is a complete shambles describing it as “the mother of all messes.”

Wolff isn’t confident the deal will help the Silver Arrows and went as far as saying it would hand the initiative to Ferrari.

“If a no-deal Brexit would happen like it is being discussed, I think it would have a major impact in terms of our operation in terms of going to the races and getting our car developed and ready.

However, Cristian Horner has a differing opinion, telling GPFans.net: “Of course, Brexit is something that consumes the news, every time you turn the TV on at the moment you’ve got somebody talking about a hard Brexit, a soft Brexit, the backstop or whatever it is.

“Obviously, as a team, we do our due diligence but whether there is a no-deal or any deal, we will have to deal with it and life ultimately will go on.”
