Horner remains adamant 2019 rule changes aren't the "right thing"

Christian Horner remains certain Formula 1 shouldn't have rush introduced the new aerodynamic changes which will come into play this year. Previously, he has claimed the front-wing changes might have no effect.

After another year with few, overtakes and a lack of close racing (wheel banging!), Ross Brawn and his team brought forward aerodynamic changes. It's hoped the new design will help drivers follow cars much closer when behind.

“Unfortunately there were some elements of a research project that Ross has been working on that have been cherry-picked by the FIA for application next year, and unfortunately Mercedes and Ferrari supported it through the Strategy Group, and it got voted through," Horner told Racefans.

“Probably with hindsight I think all the teams would recognise now that perhaps it wasn’t the right thing to rush through. But let’s reserve judgement until we see the first four or five races.”
