Max Verstappen was 15 minutes late for Thursday's press conference in Austria. However, the
Red Bull Racing driver had a good reason for doing so and will therefore not receive a penalty from the stewards.
 At the paddock in Spielberg,
GPblog learned that Verstappen arrived late for the press conference due to a delayed flight. Verstappen was flying his own plane, along with
Nico Hulkenberg, to Spielberg. However, that flight was delayed, causing both Verstappen and Hulkenberg to arrive late at the venue.
Nevertheless, the
FIA opened an investigation in accordance with the regulations. The stewards ruled that Verstappen was not to blame, as he had "problems with transport" and the
Formula 1 team had informed the
FIA in time. No penalty or fine will therefore follow for the Dutchman.
