Ferrari have received the ‘Tapilo d’Oro’ award from Canale 5 for the second year running.

The satirical honour consists of a golden representation of the homonymous South American mammal and is an attainment for making some gesture or action absurd or rude or some Magana in their field, in being damaged by third parties or being involved in some unpleasant event.

The Scuderia achieved the award for failing to win the Formula 1 World Championship again.

“This year we started off well, we thought we could sing them to the Mercedes and instead they sang them to us at the end of the season.” Said Maurizio Arivabene on claiming the comical award.

Despite claiming the award the Ferrari manager spoke how the engine was pushed to its limits.

“The engine was pushing and always pushing.

“We have done beautiful things and less beautiful things because we wanted to take the Tapiro.” Joked the man from Brescia.

"We hope that next year the Ferrari brand will not become the rampant Tapiro.”
