A big question mark still hangs over Max Verstappen's future. The Dutchman has a contract until 2028, but whether he will also serve out his contract at Red Bull Racing remains to be seen. In China, Verstappen is not yet clarifying that either.

Things have been unsettled at Red Bull Racing this year due to the soap opera surrounding Christian Horner. On the track, performances have been great. Max Verstappen won three of the four Grands Prix in 2024 and tops the championship. Yet, because of the turmoil in the background, there is still no clarity on his future with the team. Even in Japan, Verstappen gives no guarantee that he will still be driving for Red Bull Racing in 2025.

Verstappen still not giving clarity

"I signed after 21. I signed a long deal with the team. The only thing that I always said from the beginning is, of course, that we want to have a quiet, peaceful environment. Lately we have been talking about the car. So I'm very happy about that already that we are talking about the performance of the car. That's also how it should be. And as long as I'm happy with the team, there's never been a reason to leave," Verstappen said.

So, for the time being, Verstappen is still fine, and it helps that the storm around Horner has subsided somewhat. The Red Bull Racing team boss was exonerated following an investigation into alleged inappropriate behaviour. However, the woman in question has appealed.
