Bernie Ecclestone, the former Formula 1 owner who is good friends with Christian Horner, says that after all the turmoil, there is now peace at Red Bull Racing. Moreover, everything is said to be going well between Horner and his wife, Geri Halliwell Horner.

Ecclestone: 'There is now peace at Red Bull'

Things had been unsettled at Red Bull since February, following allegations of inappropriate behaviour of which Horner was eventually cleared of. Even the door to Mercedes seemed to be open for Max Verstappen, who demanded Helmut Marko must stay in his position.

According to Ecclestone, peace has now returned to the Austrian Formula One team. "It’s peace in our time. And Christian informs me everything’s fantastic with Geri," the former F1 boss told Daily Mail. The former Spice Girl has remained loyal to her husband's side while Horner has been at the centre of controversy.

Ecclestone compares Red Bull situation to World War II

Ecclestone is convinced the whole saga will blow over, making a remarkable comparison. "Max seems likely to stay, and it’s like all wars in so much as people get over things and move on," said the 93-year-old Briton. "After the Second World War you weren’t allowed to mention Germany, and the Jews wouldn’t buy anything from there. It was understandable.

"But after not too long everyone forgets that and they are buying Mercedes. So I don’t see why anyone would want to push Christian out, certainly not as time acts as a great healer. He is doing a super job, and a few weeks can make a big difference. He has Geri’s support, and the whole team is doing well. There is no logical reason to upset that balance," Ecclestone said.
