Verstappen after trouble-free win in Japan: "Everything went really well"
Max Verstappen has come back very strongly from his DNF in the Australian Grand Prix, despite his earlier concerns about Red Bull Racing's race pace. He convincingly took victory at the Japanese Grand Prix while seeing teammate Sergio Perez complete the party for Red Bull Racing with second place.

Speaking to former Formula 1 driver Mark Webber after the race, Verstappen says he enjoyed the race. "It was very nice," reads his initial reaction. "The critical bit was the start to stay ahead, and after that, the car got better and better for me throughout the race, I don't know if it had to do with the clouds coming in."
"Everything went well - pit stops, strategy. It couldn't have been any better," the championship leader added. He therefore definitely sees the win as a boost after his DNF in Melbourne. "The last race was a little hiccup, but we are very happy that we are back on top here. Great fans, and in front of Honda as well, it's fantastic to win here."
