On Wednesday, the focus shifted to the driver market. But Thursday ticked another 'off-week' news box. Big money deals. And this one really is mega. F1 owners Liberty Media look set to purchase Moto GP. Another deal: Lola are venturing into Formula 1 and of course, the story about Christian Horner and Red Bull continues.

'Red Bull GmbH to move to Dubai?'

Oliver Mintzlaff and Franz Watzlawick - the bosses of Red Bull Austria - reportedly have even bigger concerns on their minds than seeing Verstappen leave Red Bull Racing. Rumours are circulating that Yoovidhya would like to move the entire Red Bull GmbH, currently based in Salzburg, to Dubai. To be continued no doubt... An iconic brand is returning to global motorsport. From 2025, British team Lola, with its technical partner Yamaha Motor Company, will compete in the all-electric Formula E world championship. They are currently working hard on a powertrain that will allow the new combination to operate in the sport. Their last adventure in Formula 1 didn't go so well...

Williams remain on tenterhooks

Alexander Albon's chassis seems likely to be ready in time for the Japanese Grand Prix. However, Williams also have bad news. According to James Vowles, the team will once again travel to a race weekend without a spare chassis. The chassis that Albon damaged is now being repaired by Williams and should be ready in time for the Japan GP. "I'm confident we'll be able to fix the chassis. We put measures in place to make sure the chassis was back here very early on Monday morning. I think it arrived around 2am or so. Since then there was already crews inside the building working on that, stripping it down and doing repairs," Vowles stated in a video from the team.
