Helmut Marko has already issued a minor warning to Daniel Ricciardo after two Grands Prix. The Red Bull Racing adviser did not see the 34-year-old Australian convincing in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and so he must "come up with something soon".

During the opening weekend in Bahrain, Tsunoda was a tenth quicker in qualifying and received team orders day one later, finishing behind Ricciardo. A week later, the Japanese was again faster than his teammate on Friday, and this a good bit too. Tsunoda qualified ninth, Ricciardo had to make do with 14th place. In the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, Tsunoda finished 14th, Ricciardo 16th.

"There is a lot at stake this season for both Yuki and Daniel," Marko stated at Speedweek.com. Both men are competing with Sergio Perez for the Red Bull seat next to Max Verstappen in 2025. "Yuki's qualifying was very good and Ricciardo will have to come up with something soon."

Visa Cash App RB needs to improve

Marko sees one point where there is work to be done for Visa Cash App RB. "At least in qualifying, Tsunoda is very good, then in the first stint they race up front in the championship points, only to fall further and further behind. They can't maintain their speed in the longruns. Either they overload the tyres or there are other reasons: that's what we have to find out," said the 80-year-old Austrian.
