Red Bull's Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey is currently busy with two projects. He is involved in desinging and improving the RB20, the car in which Max Verstappen will use to compete for his fourth Formula 1 world championship. In addition, the Brit is also working on the RB17, the hypercar Red Bull are building. In the Talking Bull podcast, the CTO talks about how multitasking is working out for him.

Multitasking is not something he minds. "It's something I enjoy," Newey said. "I don't know if my wife would agree with me being good at multitasking."

Newey reveals his busiest year

2021 saw a long battle with Mercedes for the world title, which meant things got really busy for Red Bull Racing's CTO. Consequently, he says he has no idea why he did it then: "I totally brought it on myself because we started the 17 research. We got into a very tight championship battle with Mercedes through the 21 season."

Newey continued: "There's a big development programme and a big push on trying to win that championship. And then, of course, we had the fundamental research on a totally new set of rules in Formula One for 2022, which became the RB18. So it was a very busy year. There was a lot of long hours that year. But I enjoy the variety. And I think that's perhaps what's important."
