Raymond Vermeulen sees Max Verstappen in an excellent position at Red Bull Racing. The 26-year-old driver's manager does see his client becoming the first (successful) driver ever in Formula 1 to remain linked to just one racing family for his entire career.

Whereas in Verstappen's first seasons in Formula 1, there were occasional vague rumours here and there about interest from Mercedes and Ferrari in the Dutchman's services, we have seen no such reports in recent years.

When Vermeulen was asked by Verstappen's official website whether there has been concrete interest from other teams in the Red Bull driver in recent years, he replied, "Why would Max make a switch now in this situation? We are not interested in that. But it's a small world, everyone and everything talks to each other and we have a commitment until 2028. And as you can see, Max is in the role of his life, we are driving without pressure. Teammates? Never mind: everyone gets equal material. And everyone is free to beat Max, right?"

Future of Verstappen

Verstappen is still under contract with Red Bull for the next five seasons. Whether Max will ever drive for another team? "Let's look beyond 2028 first," Vermeulen said. "Maybe Max will be the first driver to start at a team and stop there. That could well be another Verstappen story..."

Verstappen made his debut in the king class of motorsport in 2015 with the then Scuderia AlphaTauri. In May 2016, he made the switch to Red Bull. So in fact, Max did drive for two different teams in Formula 1.

The three-time world champion himself has stated several times that he does not know whether he will sign a new contract anywhere at all when his current commitment expires. He may want to broaden his horizons from 2029 by driving in other racing classes.
