Jan Lammers has voiced his criticism of Charles Leclerc in the NOS Formula 1 podcast. According to him, Leclerc made too many mistakes, throwing away the victory in Las Vegas himself. So he did not get everything out of it, as the Monegasque himself pointed out after the race.

Lammers says the incident at the first corner, where Verstappen and Leclerc went down the track together, was calculated risk on Verstappen's part. Track position is more important and Max can easily run away with a five-second penalty in the lead he says.

'That's where the difference is anyway'

Leclerc's start was a lot less good than Verstappen's, says Lammers.''Afterwards in the race you also saw him (Leclerc) make some mistakes. That's where the difference is. If Leclerc drove without mistakes he could have battled with Max for victory in Las Vegas. If Max had been in the Ferrari, I think he would have won with the Ferrari ''.

'Surely this again highlights how good Max is every time with his output. He is now performing again under very different conditions, but he is still there again. This is another accentuation of how special he is', said Jan Lammers.
