Secrecy in F1 paddock: 'I don't want to believe that rumour'
In Formula 1, not a day goes by without some juicy story making the rounds. This Monday seems to be no exception. What the juicy story is in this case, we don't know. But the influential journalist Albert Fabregas is on to something, that much is clear.
Fabregas has posted a rather cryptic post on X. He writes: "I don't want to believe the rumour they have told me in the paddock now. No." Naturally, people respond by asking what is going on then, but the Spaniard only posts an emoji with a zipped mouth.
No me quiero creer el rumor que me han dicho ahora en el paddock. No.

Will there be a driver change at Red Bull Racing?
Will Buxton, F1 TV's reporter, retweeted Fabregas' post. He then posted some GIFs, without providing further clarity. A retweet from Luke Smith, editor of The Athletic, followed. Smith refers to the story that there is a battle coming up between Daniel Ricciardo and Sergio Perez for the second seat at Red Bull Racing. Could the rumour possibly have something to do with that? One advantage of Formula 1: there are new stories every day, besides, nothing stays secret in this world.
"It looked like the Daniel of old this weekend."

As Sergio Pérez suffered home heartbreak, Daniel Ricciardo put in the best performance yet since his comeback in Mexico - adding to the narrative of the Red Bull seat battle to come.
