These records could be broken at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix

The Dutch Grand Prix is the 13th event of this season and again this weekend a number of records could be matched or even broken. We list some of them for you.

If Verstappen crosses the line first on Sunday, it will be his ninth win consecutive win in Formula 1. In doing so, he will match Sebastian Vettel. In Red Bull Racing colours, Vettel also won nine in a row in the second half of the 2013 season. An absolute record that Verstappen is therefore very close to.

Max a fish out of water at Zandvoort

If Verstappen wins, he will be the fourth driver with at least three wins at Zandvoort. Max currently stands at two wins (2021 and 2022), so he could be on a par with Jackie Stewart and Niki Lauda. Jim Clark's record of four wins cannot be broken by Verstappen until 2024 at the earliest. If Verstappen wins, he does match the record of three wins in a row at Zandvoort. In doing so, he will match Clark (1963 to 1965).

For the past two years, Verstappen has been on pole position. If the Dutchman gets this done again, he will match Rene Arnoux. The Frenchman grabbed the most P1s in qualifying with three pole positions. Verstappen would become the first driver ever with three pole positions in a row if he sets the fastest time on Saturday afternoon.

Biggest lead for Red Bull

Red Bull could also put in a unique performance this weekend, although that looks set to be difficult. The team are now 256 points ahead of Mercedes in the constructors' world championship. The Austrians could grab the biggest points lead ever in the world championship. That record is currently held by Mercedes (297 points at the end of the season in 2016), but if Mercedes don't score well at Zandvoort, Red Bull could well take over.
