Aston Martin focusing on DRS to close gap with Red Bull
Aston Martin wants to improve its AMR-23 as soon as possible in order to catch up with Red Bull or at least secure P2 in the constructors' championship. The British are currently focusing on developing their DRS, Racefans.net writes.
Red Bull's DRS is known to be hugely efficient. As a result, the Austrian racing stable manages to get more speed through the DRS than others. This helps Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez when overtaking others or when defending in a possible DRS train. But it can also make a big difference during qualifying, as this is when all drivers have DRS, and it can make a big difference in potential top speed.

Aston Martin also sees the importance of the opening rear wing. "every upgrade we bring to the car [is targeted in] helping the efficiency of the DRS," said performance director Tom McCullough. "[It] has been an area of focus for us, so further steps on that all the time."
