Pirelli have promised that they will learn their lesson following a poor Singapore Grand Prix, where there was excessive tyre saving.

The hypersoft tyres that were deployed in Singapore made for some very entertaining and rapid qualifying laps, but when it actually came to the race, drivers were very cautious that there tyres would be ruined and consequently slowed down.

The result was more than 10 seconds a lap slower than what they'd been busting out in the qualifying laps.

Pirelli motorsport manager Mario Isola confirmed that this had been noted by his team and they will do everything they can to avoid similar problems in the future.

"This is something we should discuss because with experience and all the data that has been collected this year, we now have a better picture of the approach of the teams," Isola said when asked about the situation by Autosport.

"It is good to understand which is the right direction for the future. These are all considerations that must help us to understand and to improve and to improve the situation for next year.

"I don't have a solution right now but it is important we learn from what happened, not just go ahead without looking behind."
