'Murray Walker and I would have killed earlier for so much racing action'

During last weekend's Miami race, there was a lot of overtaking in the midfield. Despite Max Verstappen winning the race overwhelmingly, Martin Brundle did enjoy the race, he says in his column for Sky Sports F1.

The battle for victory in Miami was not very exciting: where Sergio Perez could not drive away from the rest of the field, Max Verstappen was already overtaking everyone but his teammate during the early stages of the race. In the end, the Dutchman quickly gained the lead permanently after his pit stop. The rest of the field was a lot more exciting. There was a lot of fighting, with perhaps the fight between Charles Leclerc and Kevin Magnussen being the highlight.

Brundle sees a lot of racing action

Former Formula 1 driver Martin Brundle says he very much enjoyed the race: "Of course, I'd rather there were at least two teams fighting for the victories, that would be much better, but believe me when I say that Murray Walker and I would have killed for that much race action 25 years ago in the commentary box on many occasions."

Still, the Brit is not entirely sure about the regulation changes: "That doesn't mean to say we shouldn't focus on improving the racing and I am concerned that the 2023 cars, loaded with ever more downforce, are not helping in that respect."
