Sergio Perez has received a reprimand for being late to the Drivers Parade. So a spot and/or points will not be lost to the Mexican after he had to report to the stewards. At the press conference, the drivers were able to laugh about it.

After the Miami Grand Prix, which had already gone disastrously for 'Checo', the Red Bull driver also had to report to the stewards. The 33-year-old driver was allegedly late for the Drivers Parade prior to the race and had to report to the stewards with a team representative for doing so.

Perez gets away with it

Perez gave as his reason that he had team media moments and commercial appointments that prevented him from being present in time for the parade. The stewards do not see this as a valid reason. ' 'A driver arriving late for such events can have undesirable consequences for the event and this should be avoided at all times,'' they read.

Due to the circumstances, the stewards left it at a reprimand for the driver, who himself was unaware of any wrongdoing. For instance, he already revealed at the press conference that he was late due to media appointments. Fernando Alonso, the number three driver at the Grand Prix, did know what kind of penalty Perez should receive: ''30-second penalty'', said the joking Spaniard. Max Verstappen used the moment to point out that the weekend was simply too busy and that the drivers needed more free time.
