Lewis Hamilton has been without a race victory in Formula 1 for quite some time. The seven-time world champion has been without a competitive car since his iconic title clash with Max Verstappen in 2021. However, teammate George Russell still managed to reach the top step of the podium in Sao Paulo last year, with Hamilton now achieving a very painful statistic.

The Stevenage man's last victory was at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix in Jeddah on 5 December 2021. To this date, this means the Briton has currently been on a dry spell for 504 days. Therefore, he surpasses his rival Max Verstappen's longest period without a win. The Dutchman had to go a whopping 503 days without a win between the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix and his victory in Malaysia in 2017.

Can Hamilton stop the run in Baku?

Next Sunday, Hamilton will have the first opportunity to take another win when the teams prepare to race through the streets of Baku. Should the Mercedes driver cross the line first, it will have taken 510 days for his fans to cheer for a win again.
