With Formula Equal, Craig Pollock hopes to join Formula 1 in the '25 or '26 season. At the team, there would be an equal distribution of men and women, namely 50/50. The same goes for the future driver duo. So with the arrival of Formula Equal, there would be an additional female F1 driver.

Pollock recently announced via CNN that he had applied for entry to the FIA. In doing so, he has taken a first step, but the road to a final entry on the grid is still long. It is no secret, for instance, that the current teams in Formula 1 are not in favour of an eleventh or perhaps even twelfth team in the pinnacle of motorsport.

Attractive to get involved

Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing team boss, was asked in Australia what he thought of Formula Equal's application. The Briton responded somewhat evasively but did address the subject of diversity in F1. "I think the interest is growing. It’s appealing to more women to get involved in the sport, whether that’s from an engineering basis or across all aspects of the organisation."

For now, there are no female drivers knocking on Formula 1's door. Jamie Chadwick, part of the Williams Driver Academy, currently has the most potential. The three-time W Series champion is competing in the Indy NXT series in the United States this season.
