Skysports reporter Martin Brundle pokes fun at Mercedes' race weekend, the battle for third place and Lewis Hamilton's situation in his latest column.

The former driver sees that the seven-time world champion is not happy with the current state of affairs at the team. Brundle pointed out that George Russell, who finished ahead of his teammate, had once again put in a sterling performance in his W14. "George Russell did a fine job for Mercedes all weekend and out-qualified Lewis for the second time this season."

'Mercedes took Aston Martin by surprise'

Due to a time penalty for Fernando Alonso, Russell seemed to have secured third place. The British commentator states that it was "presumably" Mercedes who alerted race control to Aston Martin's possible wrong pit stop. While the driver was paying a time penalty given earlier, an Aston Martin mechanic allegedly touched his car, which is forbidden by the regulations. After protests from Lawrence Stroll's team, the FIA decided to revoke the time penalty anyway and grant the Spaniard his 100th podium.

'She is irreplaceable for Hamilton'

Normally it would not be news when a driver breaks with his physiotherapist, but in the case of Lewis Hamilton and Angela Cullen, the news came as a big surprise.
