Former Williams driver Felipe Massa is "annoyed" by recent comments that Williams driver Lance Stroll made.

Last season, Massa, who has now retired, sat with teenage driver Lance Stroll at Williams - and the retired Brazilian was his driving mentor.

However, Stroll claimed that he got absolutely "no guidance from him (Massa) whatsoever".

This has angered Massa, who drove for Williams at the end of his Formula One career between the years of 2014 and 2017.

"I did more for him than Michael Schumacher did for me, and he (Schumacher) was my teacher," Massa explained to Globo.

"With all modesty, I did a great deal for him. I first met with him when he was seven, so it was a pleasure for me to take him under my wing and help him."

Massa also hinted that he feels some betrayal coming from the young Canadian's end.

"He had big problems with pace and also understanding a Formula One car," the Brazilian added.

"I was very close to him and spoke to him a lot and helped him in a way that no-one else has done for a driver.

"That's why I was angry when I saw the comments, because I had not imagined he would say that. But we have no problem with each other."
