There is uncertainty over the future of AlphaTauri, Auto, Motor und Sport reportedon the final day of testing in Bahrain. It is possible that the Faenza-based team will move to Britain, but it is also a possibility that the racing stable will be disposed of by Red Bull. The Austrians themselves have since responded to the rumour.

A Red Bull spokesperson to The Mirror that there are "no plans to change the current structure". Helmut Marko was also asked by Sky in Bahrain about the reports. "Generally we don‘t comment on rumors. That we can‘t be satisfied with what Alpha Tauri achieved last year (P9) is also understandable. But such a decision is entirely up to the shareholders."

AlphaTauri disappointed last season, finishing ninth in the constructors' championship. They have to do better in 2023, Marko also knows. "When you have a team that wins the title and the other one is only P9, the synergies don't seem to work properly. The overall result is not satisfying. As good business people, our shareholders will make the right decision."

AlphaTauri suffers loss

Oliver Mintzlaff, the new director of investment and sport at Red Bull, would like to do a few things differently. AlphaTauri is currently costing the Red Bull group too much money. Splitting the headquarters in Faenza and the aerodynamics team in Bicester would be inefficient and the results are not to its liking, which also means less money coming in. So it is possible that a relocation or sale is imminent in the past future.
