Vasseur faces test days with Ferrari with excitement

Ferrari this week presented the new car with which Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc enter the season. Team boss Frederic Vasseur is curious about the performance of the SF-23 and is therefore looking forward to the test days scheduled next week in Bahrain.

Vasseur was still the leader of the Alfa Romeo team last season. He says it was not an easy period as Formula 1 teams had to deal with new regulations. "We were all entering new territory at that time," he told Auto, Motor und Sport. "This time, the concepts of the cars and the possible problems are already more known."

Tension at Vasseur ahead of the season start

Nevertheless, the team boss knows better than anyone that for now, it remains to be seen how good Ferrari's new car actually is. After all, when the test days come to an end, the formations have only a week to go before the season starts.

Signalling a problem could therefore cost the team a lot of points during the season start. "When a big problem presents itself before, as with McLaren last year, you simply don't have time to react before the first race," Vasseur sums up. He therefore faces exciting times with Ferrari.
