Max Verstappen has apologised on Instagram for his rant in the cockpit yesterday. The Dutchman was extremely frustrated following his forced retirement early on due to an engine issue.

"I don't care if this f***ing engine blows up... What a f***ing joke, all the f***ing time. Honestly. Argh!"

Was how Verstappen reacted when he got told to retire the car. He wasn't the only Red Bull driver to swear during the Hungarian Grand Prix! See Ricciardo's funny swearing incident here!

Today, Verstappen has posted a picture on Instagram with the following caption;

"Looking back on yesterday the disappointment is still there. However, I should not have used the words I did in the heat of the moment. Emotions were running high after a good start to the race.

"These frustrations came for a reason, after another unexpected engine failure which have been happening too often over the past few years.

"We came to Budapest with high expectations and not being able to be competitive made it hard to swallow for us. I will go into the summer break hoping we will be back stronger after it."

Fair play to Max. You can't blame him for using the language he did following the retirement. It's sport after all. He then adds class to the situation by explaining and apologising.
