At twenty-five years old, Max Verstappen is still young, but that does not prevent many fans from being curious about any other activities within his racing career. Whereas for most drivers, the future consists of fulfilling their dream of becoming World Champion and therefore giving this their full attention, Max has already done so twice. So, what would he possibly want and be able to do besides Formula 1?

In an interview with Auto, Motor und Sport Verstappen discussed his ideas. Asked what is on his list, the Dutchman replied "Endurance Racing. I don't know yet in which car. I'm still waiting for the Hypercars to really take off - based on that, I want to see how the different manufacturers perform."

Verstappen is also upbeat about Le Mans, but thinks it is something for the future. As for Indy 500, he is reluctant and the Dutchman makes a firm statement: "No ovals for me. I've said that before. I have a lot of respect for what the drivers do there. But after my Formula One career, I don't want to expose myself to such a risk. Of course, Formula 1 is also dangerous. But if you end up in the catch fence there, it's not a fun experience."

A few more years to go at Red Bull

It seems inconceivable that Max would drive anywhere else within Formula 1. At the moment, he has no intention of doing so either - his Red Bull contract still runs until 2028. "At the end of my contract period I will be 31 years old. After that, I don't know if I will continue or not. There are still a few years to go," the driver said.

Asked if he can still be found in the sport at the age of 40, the Dutchman replied that that will definitely not be the case. "At some point it becomes too much with the races in Formula 1. Then it's not fun anymore. It also depends on how competitive we are in 2028. If we are still competitive then, it would be stupid to stop."

For now, at least, we do not have to worry about Formula 1 without Verstappen, as his contract continues until 2028 and Red Bull is on the top step of the ladder.
