Pecco Bagnaia has won the MotoGP World Championship. In the final race of the MotoGP season at the Valencia circuit, the Italian finished ninth, but that was enough for the world title. Fabio Quartararo, the 2021 World Champion, crossed the finish line in fourth place to finish second in the championship.

Italian Ducati's garage was upside down as 25-year-old Bagnaia crossed the line. After starting eighth, his main concern was to stay out of trouble. With Jorge Martin in pole position and Marc Marquez and Jack Miller next to him, Quartararo did not have the best place to start from either. After a great start, Alex Rins took over the lead. Quartararo made a few mistakes, went wide and even collided with Bagnaia. Nevertheless, both riders stood their ground in a race full of crashes and the championship was decided in favour of the Italian rider.

Strong season for Bagnaia

Bagnaia rode a strong season, in which he won no fewer than seven of the 21 races and stood on the podium 10 times. It is the first time in 50 years that an Italian rider with an Italian bike has become World Champion in MotoGP.

Rins won the race , Brad Binder crossed the line in second and Martin was third.
