Leclerc's 100th race: How does he compare to Verstappen?
Charles Leclerc experienced his 100th Grand Prix in Formula 1 in Mexico last weekend. Although the Monegasque did not manage to convince, the driver can be quite satisfied with his performance in recent years. But how do they compare with Max Verstappen's when the Dutchman had the same number of races to his name? We put it in a row.
After 100 race weekends in Formula 1, Verstappen, like Leclerc, had not yet been able to win the world championship. The Dutchman did manage to take seven GP victories to his name. Leclerc picked up five wins with victories in Belgium, Italy (both 2019), Bahrain, Australia and Austria (all 2022).
In contrast, Leclerc was on pole position much more often. Whereas Verstappen's first 100 races were good for one pole, Leclerc was at the front no less than 18 times. However, it did not earn the Monegasque more victories. In addition, Verstappen faced more drop-outs. The Red Bull Racing driver was sidelined 21 times, while Leclerc retired 17 times.

Verstappen managed to finish in the top three more often
Verstappen also scored better in terms of podium finishes. The Dutch driver was on the podium 29 times, while Leclerc was on their 23 times. Finally, the two-time world champion managed to score 70 more points than his Ferrari rival.
