There are currently plenty of rumours and speculation circulating regarding Red Bull Racing's alleged violation of F1's financial rules. The team is said to have exceeded the 2021 budget cap, but did so, according to Daily Mail by just one million pounds.

'Red Bull went over budget cap by small amount'

If reports are correct, Red Bull will have only slightly - if at all - exceeded the budget cap when the FIA publishes its findings. The results of the investigation are expected to be announced on Wednesday, but according to the British medium, there is a small chance that this will be delayed. The reason for this is said to be that the governing body does not want to give the impression that it is letting others impose a deadline on it.

Speculation was circulating in the paddock talking about amounts of at least five or even ten million dollars, but according to Daily Mail, those rumours will not be confirmed by the FIA. The amount is said to be around one million pounds, which would be much lower than the rumours suggest. This would not only mean that no sanctions will follow for Red Bull, but also that there will be no impact on the outcome of the championship in 2021 and that Max Verstappen will therefore get to keep his world title.

Moreover, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner would also be vindicated, feeling wrongly accused and calling the statements made by rivals Mattia Binotto and Toto Wolff "defamatory". According to Horner, his rivals made their accusations in an attempt to undermine the success of Red Bull, which, with Max Verstappen, is on the eve of capturing a second drivers' title in a row.
