McLaren appoints communication director from Chelsea football club

McLaren has succeeded in freeing Steve Atkins from Chelsea football club. Atkins is to play a key role in improving communication at McLaren in the coming years, Zak Brown and others revealed on McLaren's official website.

"Communications has never been more important as we look to achieve our ambitious growth plans," Brown says. "Steve is a fantastic leader and brings a wealth of communications experience from sport and government that will prove invaluable in helping us maximise opportunities and navigate any challenges."

That Atkins has a lot going for him is evident from the titles he has to his name. For instance, he was the most influential communicator in football in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Moreover, he has been in the top 10 most influential people in PR Week's Power Book in the sports and entertainment category since 2016.
