Alpine must find a new driver for 2023. Pierre Gasly's name has been floated as a candidate to join the French team and Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko has also admitted that, if Alpine makes a good offer, Gasly may leave AlphaTauri.

The silly season began when Fernando Alonso decided not to renew his contract with Alpine. The French team then announced Oscar Piastri as his replacement, but according to the young Australian, none of this was true. The Contract Recognition Board is currently looking into this complex issue and it will only be a matter of time before they know who is right.

Is this a cover-up or is he saying something else?

A video is currently circulating on Twitter of the few minutes before the so-called 'Drivers Parade' prior to the Belgian Grand Prix. In the video, some drivers walk towards the oldtimer in which they take place for their lap of honour before the race starts. The observant Twitter user thinks he hears:"I'm still working on the final details of the contract"."
