Max Verstappen makes no secret of the fact that he also enjoys racing outside Formula 1. He occasionally drives a Porsche GT3 on various circuits in Europe and also enjoys the occasional virtual race in his simulator at home.

Verstappen has a great passion for sim racing and is regularly involved in it in his spare time. When the Dutchman is not on the track or in the gym, chances are you can find him in his simulator. Together with Team Redline, the sim racing team he is a member of, he regularly takes part in virtual races. On the virtual tracks, the Limburger is almost as strong as on the physical tracks and is not inferior to the many professional simracers he meets along the way.

Verstappen speaks about it in an exclusive interview in the Telegraph "Always on behalf of Team Redline, where I am also a shareholder. Sim racing is becoming more and more professional. You have to pay drivers as well. So you start looking for sponsorship. We have already made some nice deals with BMW and Porsche, among others, who know that I am very closely involved."

Future

In combination with Red Bull, the driver's website, Verstappen.com, is also on, for example, the rally cars of father Jos, and good friend and son of his manager, Thierry Vermeulen (active in ADAC GT Masters, among others). "Whether that is something to expand in the future? Not at the moment, but who knows what the future holds. In GT3, for example," says Verstappen. "In Formula 1 I don't see a role for me other than as a driver. But in the future I would like to build my own kart circuit and perhaps drive long-distance races, which may be possible even while I'm still active in Formula 1."
