According to F1 boss Stefano Domenicali, this will be the most coveted ticket in the world: a ticket for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. It was already known that a hotel package with ticket will run into thousands of dollars.

Pre-registration for the event started on Monday. Fans can indicate on a special site that they wish to claim a ticket. This is not a guarantee for a ticket. The organisation expects a large demand for tickets in the suddenly F1-crazy America. The races in Austin and Miami were already completely sold out, no doubt the same will happen in Las Vegas.

Free meals for poor Americans

The American organisation has linked a good cause to the race. Everyone who registers for tickets is required to transfer $7.77 to the Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation. Renee Wilm, CEO of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, says in the Las Vegas Review-Journal that race organizers are working with Three Square Food Bank and The Just One Project to ensure that the impact of the race is felt in the city. Companies are expected to make $1 billion from the Grand Prix. But there should also be a benefit for the poor.

“We are in Las Vegas for the long term and look forward to contributing to the community in many ways over the coming years. One million free meals is just the beginning,” says Wilm.
