Dutch Grand Prix timetable | This when the F1 drivers will be in action

After one year of waiting, it is finally time for the Dutch Grand Prix again. Next weekend the Formula 1 circus will descend on the Zandvoort circuit again and it is expected that there will be about 105,000 (Dutch) fans present every day, most in support of Max Verstappen. Here you can read what time you have to switch on for each session this weekend.

The Dutch GP returned to the F1 calendar last season after decades of absence. Although the grandstands were only seventy per cent full due to coronavirus restrictions, it was a big party in the stands and beyond. Verstappen also managed to grab pole position and win the race, which made the mood even better for the home fans. 

Verstappen strong from the start

Verstappen has come out of the summer break in fine form. The Belgian Grand Prix was won convincingly thanks to an RB18 that was unstoppable on the long straights of Spa-Francorchamps. Zandvoort is a little more twisty, so downforce will be key this weekend. However, Red Bull also looked rock solid (and better than Ferrari) in the Ardennes.

Qualifying will be relatively important, as overtaking on the dune circuit is much more difficult than at Spa. Verstappen will therefore need a better starting position than in the last two GPs in Hungary (P10) and Belgium (P14). However, all the ingredients are in place to go flat out on Saturday afternoon.

What time does every F1 session start at Zandvoort?

On Friday, the race weekend starts with the first free practice. This is scheduled for 12:30 local time. Later in the afternoon, the second free practice session will take place. The start time for this is 16:00 local time. The third and final practice session starts Saturday at 12:00 local time and will last exactly one hour, just like FP1 and FP2. Qualifying starts at 15:00 local time. On Sunday the race starts at 15:00 hours in the Netherlands.
