Max Verstappen has come out of the summer break in an excellent way at the Belgian Grand Prix. With his victory on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit he increased his lead in the world championship. Sergio Perez also did good business.

The Dutchman had to start the race from 14th place, but that proved no problem for Verstappen. He passed his predecessors relatively easily and managed to move into the lead before the 20th lap. He managed to hold on to that position. Whereas he had an 80-point lead on the runner-up before the weekend, the difference is now 93 points.

Charles Leclerc lost his second place in the championship to Perez. The Monegasque finished fifth and lost valuable points to his rivals. However, he is only five points behind the Mexican.

Carlos Sainz is fourth and 15 points behind his teammate. George Russell is just behind the Spaniard with 170 points, while Lewis Hamilton has 24 points less than his compatriot. Nicholas Latifi is still empty-handed after the Belgian GP.
