Valtteri Bottas says he is enjoying his best Formula One season to date. The Finn is particularly happy with the stability Alfa Romeo offers, something he did not get from his previous employers.

Bottas joined Alfa Romeo at the start of 2022 after a five-year career with Mercedes, which saw him take ten wins and two championship finishes. However, he drove mainly in service of teammate Lewis Hamilton and was never offered a contract longer than a year. At Alfa Romeo, he signed a multi-year contract for the first time in his F1 career, as Williams also always offered the Finn a one-year contract.

Alfa Romeo offers Bottas security

"It's the first time I haven't had to stress and answer the questions," Bottas said in conversation with Motorsport.com. He stresses that it can't be fun for the drivers who are currently going through the summer break without certainty about their future and admits that he is more relaxed because he does know what his own future looks like. "This season is probably the most enjoyable so far," said the Finn, who says he is enjoying his time in F1 "more than ever".
