Martin Brundle is pleased that Max Verstappen has changed his driving style in 2022, but wonders aloud whether the Dutchman will continue to behave as well when the pressure is on.

Brundle wondered after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix last year if Verstappen was on his way to follow Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna. According to Brundle, those two greats are examples that are also tainted by dirty driving. Brundle accused Verstappen of that after the GP in Jeddah in 2021.

In 2022, things seem to go a lot better, Brundle concludes in his column for Sky Sports. ''Max was once again very fair and professional in his way of driving and defending. Generally he is this year, albeit very much pushing the limits in his defence against Mick Schumacher the week before at Silverstone'', says the former F1 driver.

The Brit recalls his own quotes from last year, but sees a change there with Max. ''Max would do well to avoid that career reputation. It will be interesting to see how that goes if push literally comes to shove in the championship'', concludes Brundle.
